eKlik is the platform of services designed by Klik Technologies to reduce the need for physical deposit and clearing of paper payments. eKlik accomplishes this through two distinct products: Online Banking and RemitStation.

Service Description

Many online banking bill payment services provide paper checks to settle payments originated electronically. The paper checks are mailed to the payment remittance address in place of an electronic ACH.

Online Banking allows the consumer to use his/her bank's Internet banking web pages to make bill payments to clients of Klik Remit. Banks and their designated service providers move the funds from the consumer account electronically and provide remittance advice to Klik via data file. Klik deposits the payments to the appropriate operating accounts based on the consumer's accountID.

The eKlik system processes the electronic remittance advice and applies the same business rules to these transactions as are used for the paper check-based remittances. Rule violations, such as improper account number or invalid payment amount are resolved as exception items on the klik.com web exception page. Often these exception items can be resolved within hours of their identification. An electronically generated coupon is prepared from the remittance advice file to aid in exception resolution. One daily A/R posting file includes all payments.

Here is How Online Banking Works

  • Consumers use their bank's bill payment system to initiate payments. They enter the amount to pay, payment date and their account number as shown on their bill.
  • Their bank debits the checking account on the designated date and moves the funds to the operating account or to a special account for subsequent move to the operating account.
  • Their bank sends a data file (electronic remittance advice) to Klik for processing.
  • eKlik processes each payment, applies business rules, creates an image replacement coupon, provides a collaborative exception process, transfers the funds via ACH to operating accounts and sends a daily posting file to your A/R system.
  • eKlik provides web pages for item research - a single source for payment information on check payments, KliknPay payment and online banking payments.
RemitStation processing uses a small desktop scanner, PC and Internet connection at the remote business office to receive and initiate lockbox payments. Checks are scanned and needed information is keyed to a web page. The check image and data are received by eKlik and processed as an electronic check using ACH ARC and/or the new Check21 electronic check clearing method. Checks are destroyed as specified by NACHA and Check21 rules.

Here is How RemitStation Works

  • Consumers drop off check payments at your business office (dropbox).
  • An operator in your office uses a PC and desktop scanner to scan the checks and enter the consumer accountID, payment amount. Checks are filed for 1-5 days and destroyed.
  • eKlik receives the check image and data and processes each payment, applies business rules, creates an image replacement coupon, provides a collaborative exception process.
  • eKlik transfers the funds via ACH to operating accounts and sends a daily posting file to your A/R system.
  • Check images are electronically presented (ARC and/or Check21) for payment.
  • Klik Remit provides web pages for item research - a single source for payment information on check payments, KliknPay payment and online banking payments.
